The Process

Our Simple 3 Step Process

1. On-site measure and design

We visit your home anywhere in the Shire and measure the room as it truly is, because the post-war and Federation homes here have settled and are rarely square. We talk through your ideas, layout, materials and budget, then design cabinetry to suit the real space rather than forcing in standard modules. The measure and quote are free and without obligation.

2. Made to your measurements

Your cabinetry is made to the exact measurements of your room, with carcasses glued, dowelled and built square, heat-sealed edge-banding on every exposed edge, and quality soft-close Blum or Hettich hardware. For beach and waterfront homes we specify corrosion-resistant hinges, runners and fixings against the salt air, and 16 to 18mm HMR board in every wet area.

3. Local install and warranty

The same team that made your cabinetry installs it, scribing to your real walls and packing it dead level so reveals sit within about 2mm and doors and drawers line up cleanly. Which suburbs of the Sutherland Shire do you cover?

Do you make engineered stone benchtops?

No. The manufacture, supply and installation of engineered (reconstituted) stone was banned nationally from 1 July 2024, with importation prohibited from 1 January 2025, because cutting it releases silica dust that causes silicosis in workers. We fit compliant benchtops instead: natural granite and marble through licensed stonemasons, porcelain and sintered surfaces, solid timber, stainless steel and laminate. In practice these are excellent, safe, modern choices.

Why choose custom cabinetry over IKEA or Kaboodle flat-pack?

IKEA at Tempe is only around 20 to 25km up the Princes Highway, so this is not about distance. It is about fit and finish. Flat-pack modules come in fixed sizes, and the post-war fibro and Federation homes across the Shire have settled and are rarely square, so standard boxes leave gaps and wasted space. We measure your actual room, make cabinetry to suit, then scribe it level on site to within about 2mm, with a wider choice of materials and one local team accountable from measure to install.

How do you build for the coastal salt air near Cronulla and the waterways?

Salt-laden air off Bate Bay and damp off Port Hacking and the Sylvania Waters canals is harder on metal than on the board. For beach and waterfront homes we specify corrosion-resistant hinges, runners and fixings, use 16 to 18mm HMR moisture-resistant board in wet areas, heat-seal every exposed edge and seal the cut-outs around sinks and taps. HMR is moisture-resistant, not waterproof, so this is careful material and detailing choice, not a waterproof guarantee.
